nán jì
《诗．小雅．四月》:滔滔江汉，南国之纪。郑玄笺:江也，汉也，南国之大水，纪理众川，使不壅滞；喻吴楚之君能长理旁侧小国，使得其所。后因以指南方。即南戒。本指南方诸侯之国。后称南方为「南纪」。
自陕而西为秦、凉，北纪山河之曲为晋、代，南纪山河之曲为巴、蜀，皆负险用武之国也。
